DIY Silkscreen

Each workshop is one four hour session held from 12-4PM; choose from the dates below:
Saturday, June 15th (FULL)
-or-
Sunday, July 28th
In this 4-hour intensive workshop, learn how to make your own silkscreening set-up that can run right off your kitchen table. You will learn how to prepare a screen, transfer an image, and make a print from start to finish through the process of designing and printing on a tote bag or t-shirt. Let us guide you through this notoriously tricky medium so that you can print with confidence.
Please bring: your ideas, artwork design/reference for what you might like to print (black and white only– bold graphic shapes work best), and additional clothing or items you may want to print on. You will be given t-shirts and/or tote bags to print on in class. Please wear clothes that can get messy.
*Advice from a student: "The art [design] should be no bigger than half of a letter sized paper and if you want to skip the step of tracing the design, bring it already printed onto acetate."*
Additional materials fee (payable in cash at the workshop): $40 Materials fee includes: 4 tote bags or t-shirts, a resuable screen, a squeegee and a syllabus/at home instructions.
