In conjunction with our Featured Artist series, we’d like to introduce the third installment of a new Brooklyn Art Space video project. We will be releasing individual interviews of BAS community members filmed with the hope of continuing to illuminate what’s going on behind the doors of our Gowanus studio.
This is an effort to get to know our BAS members better and to create a dialogue about the work created here that extends outside of the studio space. Through these interviews we hope to learn more about our artists' studio practices and past experiences, both verbally and visually, as well as to create a platform to share a variety of different ideas about art making.
Rhia Hurt is well known as BAS director, but in this video she speaks in depth about the work she is producing on her off hours using the space. To see more of Rhia's work visit http://rhiahurt.com
For our second video, we interviewed Natalie Lomeli. She is a new member of our community and currently part of our Recent Graduate Residency. To see more of her work visit http://www.natalielomeli.com .
The series began with Suzy Kopf, a long-time member of BAS and RAW Brooklyn's 2012 Visual Artist of the Year. To see more of her work visit http://suzykopf.com/.
