RENTALS

Brooklyn Art Space is pleased to offer our gallery space for event rentals. We can host up to 70 guests for intimate cocktail-style wedding receptions, graduation or birthday parties, anniversaries, book signings or small celebrations. For sit-down affairs, we can accommodate approximately 30 guests. The space is 850 square feet with 11 foot ceilings, white walls, a large adjustable lighting system and a sound system with iPod hookup (music must remain at a moderate volume throughout the reception).

 Event rentals include:

  • A staff member on hand to admit guests and to help with questions
  • Elevator access
  • Optional rental of tables (5) and chairs (20)
  • Sandwich boards for displaying signs or posters outside the building

You may provide, on your own:

  • Food and drinks (catering is fine, but we do not have a kitchen available)
  • Music (must remain at a moderate volume throughout the event) 
  • Tables and chairs

Prices will vary based on the size, duration, and special considerations for your event.  See below for general rental pricing:

Evening rental (6PM – 12AM)

  • Weekend rate (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday): $750
  • Weekday rate: $450
  • Before 6PM or after 12AM: $50 per additional hour (pre-approval required)

Hourly meeting/workshop rate 

  • Up to 10 people: $100 per hour depending on availability
  • More than 10 people: please call 718-858-9069 to discuss your event

We suggest reserving the space at least 1 to 2 months in advance.  We can host 2 or 3 events per month.

The Fine Print

Securing a reservation: It is necessary to view the space and have a conversation about the type of event you are having to make sure that it is a good fit for our space. After date(s) have been finalized, a contract will be signed with a 50% down payment to hold the agreed upon date(s). The remaining balance must be paid one month before the reservation. Additionally, a refundable damage deposit must be charged one week prior to the event date.

Insurance requirements: All renters must provide a one million/ three million Certificate of Liability Insurance for the evening of the rental. The policy may be obtained online or through any licensed insurance agent. Abacus.net is one resource for event insurance. 

Please note: For all event rentals, guests may only use the gallery floor rental area of our space during the event. Walls are not included, and the gallery will most likely have an exhibition up during the event. Please check to see what is scheduled in the gallery when thinking about the date you would like to reserve. Additionally, the studios, building hallways, and entrance areas are not included in the visiting space for guests.  The rental contact person is responsible for signing an end of event cleaning checklist, which determines the use or return of the damage deposit. Lastly, all set-up and clean-up must take place within the 6PM - 12AM timeframe (unless extra time was approved in advance).
